Thanks for nothing Goodell!

The 2008 NFL Schedule was released yesterday and to paraphrase Roethlisberger on ESPN yesterday, if this was the BCS, the Steelers definitely wouldn't be the preseason #1. Based on last years records, they have the hardest schedule in the NFL, with their opponents combining for a .598 winning percentage. They will face 8 of the 11 teams that made the playoffs last year(the Steelers were the 12th playoff team), including all 5 of the AFC Playoff teams and both Super Bowl teams. They have road games against Jacksonville, Washington, New England, and Tennessee. Their home schedule isn't much easier with games against the Giants, Colts, Chargers, and Cowboys. There is also going to be limited morning boozefests, as they have only have 5 early games. They do get 5 games in primetime though(2 Monday Night games, 2 Sunday Night games, and a Thursday night game). At first glance, I have to say matching their 2007 record of 10-6 would have to be considered an outstanding success.

New England on the other hand, has the easiest schedule with their opponents 2007 records coming in at a measly .387 winning percentage and facing only 3 2007 playoff teams. What the hell? Belichick must have pictures of Goodell's wife blowing a goat or something.

With this brutal schedule, and Clevelands improvement last year, there is already talk of the Browns taking over as the top dog in the AFC North. Kinda like how everyone predicted the Bengals were going to do last year. I wonder how that worked out? Mondesishouse.com gives us a rundown of the 2008 Browns hype.
