From the Weekend

What you missed while passed out in green-infused drunken haze
  • Nate McMillan got his 300th career victory as the Blazers beat the Timberwolves 107-96. Big props Coach!
  • Denver had 8 players score in the double digits and Marcus Camby had a triple double in less than 27 minutes of play as the Nuggets beat the Oklahoma Sonics 168-116
  • The Rockets continued their improbable win streak, beating the Lakers by 12. The Rockets have now won 22 straight games, including 10 straight since they lost Yao Ming for the year.
  • Tiger Woods is dialed in tight. After two rounds of play at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Tiger trailed by 7 strokes and his streak of 6 straight tournament victories seemed at risk. But Tiger battled back and by the time he got to the 72nd and final hole, he was tied for the lead and he was standing 25 feet away from the hole with a downhill, breaking putt that would either win it or send him to a playoff. Even though he hadn't made a putt over 20 feet all weekend, I think we all would have been more surprised if he had missed it. Tiger has 9 wins and a 2nd place finish in his last 10 tournaments, and is now tied with Ben Hogan for third place on the all-time wins list.
  • The NCAA tournament field is set. Memphis, UCLA, Kansas, and North Carolina all received #1 seeds. Coppin State became the first team to ever make the tournament after losing 20 games, and will face off with Mount St Mary's Tuesday for the right to lose to North Carolina.
I'll be back later this week with some March Madness picks. You should ignore them and make your picks based on the mascots and uniforms. It's a proven method. If you can't beat Veronica in accounts payable, join her. Don't worry about what your friends will think. If they ask why you picked Boise State over Louisville, you don't have to tell them it was because you thought a Bronco would kick the shit out of a Cardinal, just spout some shit about Boise State's 50% shooting from the field and higher assist/turnover ratio.
